Since becoming diabetic, I’ve had to realign my tastebuds — especially around sweetness. About six weeks after ditching cane sugar, honet, et cetera from my diet, I noticed a profound cange. Things that hadn’t tasted sweet in a really long time were suddently super sweet!
This is a pretty typical breakfast for me: brown rice cake, peanut (or almond) butter, and blueberries. It’s got protein, some complex carbs, and a touch of blueberry sweetness — not to mention some great anti-oxidants.
And, yes, I am pretty obsessed with blueberries.
